The Department of Woodworking Industrial Engineering started its education process in the 2011-2012 academic year. This department trains engineers in accordance with the social, cultural, and technological developments and needs of the industry. As an essential part of their education, students manufacture a variety of office and household furniture, traditionally engraved handcraft furniture and wooden construction of all types from timber-framed houses to bridges. The students of the department acquire practical and theoretical knowledge regarding the wood products field and furniture manufacturing industry.
The main objectives of the Department of Woodworking Industrial Engineering are to educate highly qualified engineers who will be professional at all stages of wood products and furniture manufacturing sector; to offer both theoretical and practical skills regarding the wood works and industrial engineering field; to provide the students with the practical experience at the wood products and furniture manufacturing industry.
